The Rosztoczy Foundation sponsored its very first college promise third graders in 2012, and that class is graduating college now.

How a ‘college promise’ is transforming Arizona families for generations.

In 2012, the Rosztoczy Foundation launched its College Promise initiative at Michael Anderson School in Avondale, Arizona, pledging to fund college tuition for a full class of third-grade students. Now, more than a decade later, that original group is completing their college journeys—demonstrating the long-term power of investing in education.

Among the graduating students are young leaders who have overcome significant challenges, including language barriers and economic hardship. Their academic achievements have set a new standard, not just for themselves but for their families and communities. One graduate has already entered the legal field and is preparing for law school, while her siblings and peers are pursuing higher education at top institutions, including Stanford University.

The success of this first cohort has extended beyond the classroom. The program has motivated entire families—parents and siblings alike—to pursue further education and personal growth. As of 2025, over 650 students have been included in the College Promise program at Michael Anderson, with even more lives impacted indirectly.

The Rosztoczy Foundation’s commitment to early, sustained educational support continues to reshape expectations and outcomes across generations. What began as a promise to one classroom has become a catalyst for community transformation—proof that the future can change when opportunity starts early.
